Description
Thorough description and analysis of the Greek manuscripts held in the Walters Art Museum (Baltimore, Maryland), 19 of which were acquired by Henry Walters († 1931). Among these manuscripts, one may find a copy of Thucydides’s History (W.354 – Venice, ca. 1500), a biography of Homer attributed to Herodotus, a preface to Homer’s works by Demetrios Chalcondyles, and Chalcondyles’ Introduction to the First Book of the Iliad, published in Florence, in 1488 (W.475 – Florence, ca. 1488).
