Description
Written probably in 1830-1831, the History comprises a versified account, initially composed in 1800, of the reign of Constantin Hangerli (1797-1799) and of his execution by the Ottomans, as well as a chronicle in prose and in verses of the events occured in Wallachia from the second reign of Prince Alexandru Ipsilanti (1796-1797) to the end of Ioan Caragea’s reign (1818). The author intended to publish it, but this intention did not materialize during his lifetime. The poem about Hangerli also circulated independent of the History. The title – omitted by the manuscript – was given by Marcel-Dumitru Ciucă.
