Description
Synadinos starts by borrowing a Lament of the fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Turks in 1453 from bishop Matthaios of Myra. Then, he focuses on the events of Serres, from 1597-1598 to June 1642. Several moral advices follow, as well as notes on the prayer and autobiographical notes.

Notes
As the incipit of the manuscript is missing, we do not know if/how Synadinos entitled his work. Several titles were proposed by the scholars : “The Chronicle of Papa Synadinos” (Spyridon Lambros); “The Chronicle of Serres” (P. Pennas); “Advices and memoirs of Synadinos, priest of Serres” (Paolo Odorico). The last is the most accurate.
