Description
Dedicated to doge Leonardo Loredan and to the Venetian Senate by the “Shkodran priest” Marinus Barletius, the work can be divided in two parts. The first presents (briefly) the origins of the Turks, the early Turkish conquests, the first Sultans (from Osman to Mehmed II), the fall of Constantinople, and the failed Ottoman siege of Shkodra (1474). The second presents (in detail) the successful siege and the fall of the fortress (1479).
