Manuscript notes of a Greek monk living in Bucharest, briefly describing the conflict for the Wallachian throne between Prince Radu Șerban and the pretender Radu Mihnea (December 1610 – June 1611). It offers a vivid picture of the attrocities commited by Radu Șerban’s men, “especially among the Greeks”, both boyars and merchants: as Radu Mihnea enjoyed Ottoman support, all his sympathisers, real or presumed, were chased and murdered. This is a precious historical source; only two diplomatic documents, an inscription from Dealu monastery and the historical works of Metropolitan Matthew of Myra speak of these events.
