Long-time considered a revised and reduced edition of Rigas’ Map of Hellas, the Pinax of Anthimos Gazis is in fact “an entirely different map”, as Maria Pazarli has compellingly shown. For instance, it includes the island of Cyprus.

Just a few copies have survived, such as the one held in Paris (Bibliothèque nationale de France – Cartes et Plans – Ge DD 5963 (Barbié du Bocage), the one held in Florence (Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale – Palat. Cart. Geog. 500), or the one held in the Library of the Romanian Academy in Bucharest (Biblioteca Academiei Române – H 1445 D XL 55).
